The Green Film Series is honoured to premiere ‘This Living Salish Sea’ by local filmmaker Sarama on Monday June 26 and Tuesday June 27, 7:30pm at the Gibsons Heritage Playhouse.

'This Living Salish Sea' world premiere screenings June 26 & 27, Gibsons Heritage Playhouse

Exploring the rich bio-diversity of our local waters, diver and environmental activist Sarama shows us the ecosystem we are trying to protect from inappropriate industrial development. Glorious underwater footage and talks with environmentalists, scientists, and First Nations, reveal the evolving story of our Salish Sea.

“Having had long experience of how rich the life was in this sea, I could only imagine that people must lack this knowledge [of the threats of tankers and industrialization] and intimacy with the living treasure that lies at our very doorstep.”

Sarama considers the film a community effort, “Together, we have all made this happen. What is shown on the screen reflects powerfully the input, the giving and the caring of the community.”

Join us is celebrating this invaluable new local resource. Admission is by donation. Reservations are available online. Donations above expenses from these screenings will go to Sarama to help with production costs.
