The Economics of Happiness, still photo from the film.
This film describes a world moving simultaneously in two opposing directions. On the one hand, an unholy alliance of governments and big business continues to promote globalization and the consolidation of corporate power. At the same time, people all over the world are resisting those policies through the localization movement, presented in this film as a systemic alternative to corporate globalization, as well as a strategy that brings community and meaning to our lives.
January 2011 (USA) Documentary, 67 min. Directed by Steven Gorelick , Helena Norberg-Hodge
