Are you thinking about downsizing from your large home? Or perhaps you are a young person wondering if you can ever afford a home of your own? The answer may be in building a tiny house. The next film in the Green Film Series Tiny: A Story About Living Small is all about living in less space and how to get there. The film will be shown at the Gibsons Heritage Playhouse at 7:30 pm on Monday, October 28.  There will be a second showing at the Iris Griffith Centre at Ruby Lake on Saturday, November 2 at 2 pm.

Fall Green Film Series Opens with 'More Than Honey' (2013)

The Green Film Series has announced their fall line-up of films.  This special series organized by Sustainable Coast Magazine (sustainablecoast.ca) and the Gibsons Green Team in collaboration with the Sunshine Coast Film Society features environmental-themed films shown at the Gibsons Heritage Theartre. Scheduled for the months of September, October and November, the films will be shown on Mondays, alternating with the SCFS's regular schedule of films.

A Fierce Green Fire Explores the Story of the Environmental Movement

The final film in the spring Green Film Series is A Fierce Green Fire, The Battle for the Living Planet will be screened on Monday, April 29 at 7:30 pm at the Gibsons Hertiage Theatre. The film chronicles the largest movement of the 20th century and brings together all the major parts of  environmentalism and connects them. It focuses on activism, people fighting to save their homes, their lives, the future –and succeeding against all odds. A discussion led by local activists will follow the film screening. When Everything Collapses, Plant Your Field of Dreams

The next film presented by the Green Film Series is timed for spring with local gardeners and food producers. "Urban Roots" will be screened on Monday, March 25 at 7:30 pm at the Gibsons Hertiage Theatre. In order to bring this film to upper coast residents, a special screening will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 2 pm at the Iris Griffith Centre.
